Most patients notice meaningful improvement in symptom control within 2–4 weeks of switching to SMART therapy. Objective improvement in spirometry (FEV₁) is typically measurable at the 4–8 week follow-up. Reduction in exacerbation frequency becomes evident over the first 3–6 months. Patients previously on SABA-only therapy often notice the most dramatic and rapid improvement.
